Ann Marie Marecheau


Ann Marie Marecheau is currently the chairperson of the National Celebrations Committee of Grenada – the committee responsible for staging the Annual Independence Celebrations.  She is also the chair of the National Heritage Committee – the committee which staged the first ever Corn and Folklore Festival at the Grenada Market Square this year.

Ms Marecheau has extensive experience in the Tourism Industry where she served as Public Relations Officer / Senior Marketing Officer at the Ministry of Tourism in Grenada from 1986 – 1991.  She also served as Head of Marketing and Development with the Grenada Board of Tourism from 1991 – 2001.  During that period she conceptualized, developed and was part of the implementation of the Grenada Spice Jazz Festival held in the 90’s. She also conceptualized the Gouyave Fish Fiesta which is now called Gouyave Fish Friday and the Carriacou Maroon Festival which is now the Carriacou Maroon and String Band Festicval.

Following her stint at the Grenada Board of Tourism, she served as Chief of Protocol in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Acting Permanent Secretary at various Government Ministries.

Ms Marecheau is a graduate from the University of Surrey in London, England where she obtained an MSC in Tourism Marketing and became a member of the Chartered Institute of Marketing where she obtained the Professional Diploma in Marketing.

Ann Marie has a love for Culture, ,Entertainment and the Fine Arts and firmly believes that the Pure Grenada Music Festival will provide the much needed Cultural Tourism Product that will enhance the destination ‘s offering  ensuring the  much needed revenue for Tourism Stakeholders during the Off Peak Season.
