“Culture is the widening of the mind and of the spirit”.   For this reason, Arlene Friday, although raised in NYC has traveled and worked in several countries, ultimately returning to her familial roots of Grenada.   An MBA graduate in International Business, Arlene currently leads Marketing and Public Relations as a Festival Coordinator with Pure Grenada Music Festival.   Arlene has a background in grassroots organizing, strategic and brand management and has worked and consulted in various industries such as entertainment, healthcare and community empowerment organizations in both the public and private sector. She believes in building and supporting projects from the ground up which has led her to to volunteer in various parts of Africa.  Arlene, also a lover of music, plays both the piano and clarinet and has sung for many years with the 5x Grammy Award winning, Brooklyn Tabernacle Choir. These experiences have allowed her to perform in places like Madison Square Garden as well as to international audiences.

As a Festival Coordinator, Pure Grenada Music Festival combines Arlene’s passion for community and culture with her passion for music.  She hopes to bring her international experiences along with her love for Grenada to contribute to the festival’s overall success.  According to Arlene, “this festival is about showcasing to the world what we already know about Grenada- the warmth, the talent and the impeccable beauty. Our Grenada... Pure Grenada.”

We are musicians and lovers of music, believers in the power of art and expression. The beautiful island of Grenada is our home.
