The Grammy Award winners keep on coming…
St. George’s Grenada, January 5, 2018: Grammy Award winning R&B and soul singer-songwriter and actress Chrisette Michele is the lastest addition to the stellar line up of performers confirmed for the Pure Grenada Music Festival 2018 event. She is set to perform on Soul Night – Friday April 13, 2018
This artiste’s musical beginnings speak of an early life in the choir, a vocal performance degree and features on several hip hop albums until her own debut with the album I Am, in 2007. The album spawned several hit singles including "If I Have My Way" and "Be OK" with the latter earning her a Grammy Award for Best Urban/Alternative Performance.
Chrisette Michele‘s second album, Epiphany debuted at number one on the Billboard 200, selling 83,000 copies in its opening week and her third Let Freedom Reign features the dance-pop influenced "So Cool" hinting at the depth and diversity of her musical abilities.
With plans to release her 2018 album Out of Control under her own label Rich Hipster in April 2018, Music and Beyond is thrilled to welcome this phenomenal talent to the Pure Grenada Music Festival family.
Great Music…Naturally, begins here.
St. George’s Grenada, December 20, 2017: 8 diverse and incredibly talented musicians are set to wow an audience at a free LIVE performance concert on Saturday January 6th, 2018 at Camerhogne Park from 2:30pm to 5:30pm.
Under the auspices of Music & Beyond the locally registered non-profit organisation behind the Pure Grenada Music Festival, LIVE is one of the many initiatives geared at nurturing musical talent in Grenada.
Musicians at LIVE are first invited to participate in a two-stage selection process open to all bands/musicians (citizens and residents) within Grenada, Carriacou, and Petite Martinique known as Ready for the Stage.
In this first phase, bands/musicians are asked to submit a short video of their band and or themselves doing a live performance of an original song. All bands/musicians meeting the criteria are then given the opportunity to play to a panel of judges and live audience. In it’s third year of existence the perfomance is being taken to Camerhogne Park in anticipation of sharing with an even larger audience the pure talent that Music & Beyond seeks to help harness and focus towards its ultimate potential. These performances are also recordeded and artistes given further and continuous exposure via the festival’s online channels.
Musicians in the second phase include A#keem; Johnny 'Black Iron' Williams; Johnathan Francis; Lion Paw; Sabrina Francis; Thamara St. Bernard; Zamar Band and Zorina all of whom now have an opportunity to perform during the 2018 Festival based on their performance on January 6th.
LIVE reinforces the commitment of Music & Beyond to deliver on its mandate of assisting in the development of musicians across Grenada, Carriacou and Petite Martinique, including recognising talent, nurturing it, and providing the exposure and structure it needs to flourish.
Musicians, established and aspiring - and all who love music are encouraged to come out, participate, support, engage and learn more about Music & Beyond while enjoying some of Grenada’s best and as yet undiscovered musical gems.
